A billion elephants! Forty-seven million blue whales! Add up their weight and that’s how much plastic waste is on planet earth. Plastic waste is the accumulation of plastic objects in our environment that adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat and humans. Is it possible to reduce plastic or avoid it all together? Kate Caldwell from the Forest Preserve District of Will County will discuss importance of reducing plastic consumption and ways to do so.
