Event Details

Have you ever pondered the wartime experiences of your father or grandfather? Or wondered about the fate of a deceased uncle? This session aims to provide answers to such questions, shedding light on training, combat, injuries, and the impact on families during and after the war. Participants will learn where to initiate research from home, what inquiries to make, the initial steps of a research strategy applicable to veterans of any 20th-century conflict and military branch, essential records for establishing a foundation, their locations, how to construct a service timeline, and how to commence writing the veteran's story. This program is presented in partnership with Fox Valley Genealogical Society.
